Welcome Dr Jen Sippel

Welcome Dr Jen Sippel

This week’s welcome is to the lovely Dr Jen Sippel.

Welcome Dr Jen Sippel, our associate Doctor of Chiropractic at Chicago Chiropractic Center. Dr Jen has been working alongside Dr Gordon since March 2021 as her right-hand lady and our patients adore her.

Dr Jen qualified with her doctoral degree from the National University of Health Sciences. She is a Certified Cox® Technic Physician who administers flexion-distraction and spinal decompression to patients with pain stemming from disc herniation, facet syndrome, stenosis, post-surgical continued pain and spondylolisthesis.

She also utilizes manual and instrument assisted adjusting techniques as well as dry needling to relieve pain and restore mobility.

These qualifications are impressive and most people don’t know much about them. Dr Jen has a strong but gentle hand when it comes to her adjustments. Speaking as someone who has been fortunate enough to have Dr Jen adjust me. Her skills are truly fantastic. Dr Jen assesses her patients completely, tending to the body as a whole. Sometime we have pain in an area as a result of something we didn’t even know was out of alignment.

For most the terms Cox Technic, Flexion-distraction as well as spinal decompression may seem like foreign concepts so we will break things down. This technique is very gentle and incorporates both the doctor’s hands and a special table to drop the intradiscal pressures in the spine and realign and restore range of motion. This reduces low back pain, especially in radiculopathy (leg pain, arm pain) patients, better than active exercise therapy. Only 1% of chiropractors are certified in Cox Technique, and we are thrilled we have one on our team.

Dr Jen also provides dry needling which many people sometimes confuse with acupuncture. Dry needling is focused on using a tiny needle to target the motor point of the tight muscle to get it to release and provide relief. Acupuncture, on the other hand, does not use strong stimulation and it is based on channel theory and using points to heal the body naturally.

We could go into more specifics about each but this is a great overview of the techniques and skills for reference. Dr Jen is friendly and very knowledgeable, be sure to ask her any questions you may have. She is in the clinic Tuesday to Friday, be sure to book your appointment with Dr Jen sooner than later.

We are pleased to share those patients say they feel massive relief after their first visit. Once on their specific treatment plans patients have shared their thrill of how well they progress and how much better they feel each time. We have patients walk in with visual signs of pain and leave with smiles and continued thanks. For us as a team at Chicago Chiropractic Center this is a win in our books.

We can’t wait to share more with you in our next blog post. For now, be sure to prioritize your health and come in to see the team.
