High-tech equipment at Chicago Chiropractic Center
This week we focus on our space. Many of our patients have utilized our equipment and space on their road to recovery, but for those who have not had the opportunity to be treated in office by our first-class team, you’re in for a treat. This week’s blog post is all about what equipment we have in office, how the items are used and the benefits thereof.
Now don’t worry, we aren’t going to get too technical, but this quick read is definitely going to be educational.
Within the clinic space here at Chicago Chiropractic Center we have an x-ray machine, an MLS laser machine, an ARP therapy machine, muscle stimulation machine with ultrasound heads, a diagnostic ultrasound machine and a drop table.
Now I know for many these are just words. Let’s change that with a little more information. We won’t overwhelm you with information so for this week we will talk about the X-ray machine, ARP and MLS laser. Next week will follow with the rest.
Within the clinic when Dr. Gordon or Dr. Jen are assessing patients an X-Ray may be taken to fully understand what each patient’s spinal condition looks like. Dr. Gordon is able to look for things like degeneration, postural imbalances, scoliosis etc. These are all factors that allow the doctors to know how best to treat a patient and what the end goals need to be.
X-ray machines produce a stream of electromagnetic radiation that interacts with an anode in an x-ray tube. When x-rays come into contact with our body tissues, they produce an image on a metal film. Soft tissue, such as skin and organs, cannot absorb the high-energy rays, and the beam passes through them. Dense materials inside our bodies, like bones, absorb the radiation producing an image of our bones for us to view.
Next to look at is our MLS Laser Machine. What is it? MLS Laser Therapy is a non-invasive, safe and effective treatment that uses light energy to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, promote healing and repair soft tissue. The MLS laser converts light into biochemical energy (similar to the process of photosynthesis in plants) to promote normal cell function to reduce pain and speed recovery of damaged cells by stimulating your body’s natural healing process. MLS lasers increase circulation, sending oxygen and blood to the treated area, which stimulates tissue healing including cell repair and healthy tissue growth. Since no heating is involved, MLS Laser therapy can be used with surgical or metal implants and it is extremely effective for post-operative wound healing.
Accelerated Performance Recovery (ARP) Training is a neuromuscular machine used to retrain the muscle by stimulating the muscle and nerve. This machine is similar to the muscle stimulation (Interferential/Premod) but slightly stronger. ARP Therapy is used both actively and passively. Accelerated Recovery Performance or ARP therapy is one of the best options for patients who are looking for quick recovery from acute and chronic injuries. The ARPWave device is approved by the FDA and it allows patients to return to work and daily activities in a short span.
All of these items are used in conjunction with each other for the patient’s recovery process. For each patient this process is different, but knowing what you may have at your disposal is a comfort you now have.
Here at Chicago Chiropractic Center, we are patient focused and transparent about our methods because they are proven to produce fantastic outcomes. If you haven’t already, be sure to book your next appointment with us. You can call in to the office or book online right here on the website.
Check in next week when we discuss the other equipment.
